Take a seat and help renovate a storied space at Tufts

Saving a Storied Space

Decades of memories have been made at Cohen Auditorium since its construction in 1954. Each day, students in Cohen learn about the history of rock and roll, or for a lecture by a much-anticipated literary or political figure. They hear the echoes of a long-ago Christmas Sing, the rhythmic steps of Sarabande and Spirit of Color…or Sondheim melodies reaching the rafters when Torn Ticket takes the stage.

Take a Seat (or Two)

The largest auditorium/lecture hall on Tufts’ Medford/Somerville campus, Cohen is now undergoing a critical renovation to update the facility for many more years as a venue for theatre, music, academics, and guest speakers. We are thrilled to be embarking on this project—and we welcome you to be a part of it.

Cohen Auditorium has 587 seats just waiting to be named. Plaques on the back of each seat can be inscribed to commemorate your graduation year, to acknowledge a favorite professor, or to honor a student, family member, or friend.

The Board of Advisors of the School of Arts and Sciences has set a fundraising goal to raise $250,000. To be a part of renovating this storied space at Tufts, please contact us at the School of Arts and Sciences Development Office, 617-627-3732 or patricia.knibbs@tufts.edu. Other naming opportunities are also available.
